“And when he came to himself…” Lk 15:17
In the parable of the prodigal son we see one of the best illustrations of true humility when “he came to himself.” In his ability to acknowledge where he was compared to where God was he accomplish what many Christians struggle with, changing their mind (vs 21) and not just their position. True humility motivates you to find God’s position and get there as soon as you can yourself. If humility only causes you to change your position, and not your mind you were only moved out of embarrassment not enlightenment.
The strength and height of your character will only be in proportion to the depth of your humility.
