 1Co 1:5  “That in every thing ye are enriched by him…”

October of 2020, a violent hurricane in S. India that took lives, destroyed property leaving mass devastation, also left gold on the beaches, and washed away the topsoil revealing gold deposits on properties more than $8M. Ever had a metaphorical storm in your life that drove you to your knees in acts of prayer and by and by the storm passes, forgotten but the sweetness of the Spirit‘s presence during remained, warming the soul? Storms may not bring/leave physical riches, but they can often wash away the layers of life’s soil that hide the wealth of the Lord in our lives, leaving a spiritual wealth that remains long after the rainbows are gone. God may not give us an easy journey to the promised land, but He will give us a safe one that’s blessed and filled with everything we need for the journey.

It’s not what we lose in this life, but what we gain in the Lord that’s true wealth… HSAY

 Job 38:22-23 “… hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, Which I have reserved against the time of trouble…”

It can be difficult in seeing our trials as great opportunities, often appearing as obstacles instead. And yet the Father reveals to Job a chosen and proving way of His great love, and glorious manifestations. God used hail to help Joshua and the Israelites win a battle (Jos 10:11). If we can see such revelation, then clouds become rainbows, and mountains as paths of ascension. God’s blessings often appear as rough packages, and until they are unwrapped and revealed, we fail to see the treasure within. God has all the forces of nature and man at His control and restraint as His resources for our good. If we could see beyond today as God knows, we’d see the light beyond the darkness that would reveal the path which leads to the glory of the Father’s goodness.

For the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present… HSAY

Num 21:17 "Then Israel sang this song: “Spring up, O well!—Sing to it!"

What a strange song. Israel had been traveling over the desert's barren sands, no water was in sight and they were famishing with thirst. Then God told Moses, "gather the people, and I will give them water", and consider how so. They gathered in circles and with their staves began digging in the sand, while singing "Spring up, O well, sing ye unto it." Upon which the ground gurgled and water gushed forth. The digging of the well is a beautiful picture of God's blessings that flow in our lives, and we have only to reach by praise and faith. Yes, they labored in obedience, but reached the needed water by praise; they sang upon the sand in faith. Our Praise and Faith will still open fountains in our desserts. There is nothing that pleases the Lord so much as faithful praise. Are we PRAISING GOD enough, Even in our desserts?

Know the very spot upon which we doubt, fear, murmur could be the very spot where blessings are flowing under us... HSAY

 Mal 2:11 “Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved…”

Israel’s sin was separating their dealings with God from the rest of their life. They sought after pagan women and dealt treacherously with their brother. This brought a manifold judgement from the Lord (vss 2-4). Our blessings come when we walk in the Lord and according to what He thinks, not what we think. We cannot successfully separate any aspect of our life from the Lord, He must be Lord of all. Seek your way in the Lord, and you’ll find your way in life. (Psa 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”)

Healthy desires are found in our delight for the Lord, not in our lust… HSAY

Zec 8:23  ‘Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass… men shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.‘

Those days concern the Father’s deliverance and restoration of Jerusalem. A name that was once mocked by the heathen was now a place man was drawn to because she bears fruit, gives increase and has become a blessing; causing other men to take hold of her knowing the Lord’s goodness was upon Jerusalem. As a believer are we living in a way that shows evidence of the Lord’s deliverance and restoration and encourages others to grab hold and walk the same direction as well, knowing the Lord is with us?

You may be the only bible an unbeliever reads; are they encourage enough to keep reading… HSAY

 2Ki 7:9  “… this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: … now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king's household.”

When we prosper don’t fail to prosper others. Our blessings are not gained but given by the Lord’s favor, (Jms 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…”), thus we’re to keep on giving what has been given to us. In this passage the lepers were in the greatest of need, and yet they understood the importance of paying forward the Lord’s goodness. Realize that like the lepers we’re all dying, some with Christ and others without, if you’ve been blessed with knowing Christ, don’t hold your peace, you must be quick to share Him and bless others!

True prosperity is not in what you possess, but in how you help others possess it as well… HSAY

‘… Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.’ Mt 8:10b

Interesting to consider, that while the Jews penned the Bible, it was a gentile who was said to have had the greatest faith. This man was a leader, a military officer of many men but he shows us that a little piety goes a great way. He obviously was a Godly man with a humble heart, meaning no man’s calling or place in this world will excuse him from unbelief or humility.

Be cautious not to let the elements of this world imped on your faith. The religious man can get distracted by his religious acts rather than his humble faith. In the preceding part of (vs 10), we’re told Jesus “marvelled” at the centurion’s faith. The word “marvelled’ comes from the Greek meaning “to gaze in wonder.” Do you desire to marvel the Master? Then: 1. Give God’s Word the “authority” it deserves in your life. and 2. Give God’s Word the “respect” it deserves for keeping it’s promise. We don’t obtain God’s blessings by trying to earn them, simply be obedient to His Word and you’ll experience them.

Obedience is the path one follows in faith that leads to the Father’s favor… HSAY

 ‘I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten… “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD…’ Joel 2:25a; 26a

Don’t you hate making the same mistake twice? It’s better to prepare/prevent than it is to repair/repent. Consider how many ways we apply this, we take steps to ensure cars, homes, finances, health… yet often leave our hearts a drift. Failing to repent/repair our hearts, will often cause us to repeat our actions causing ongoing effects.   

If the Jews would never again experience a disaster like this locust plague ("my people shall never again be put to shame"), how do we explain the captivity in Babylon, their slavery under the Greeks and Romans, and their persecution under Hitler? It is important not to take these verses out of context. This is still part of the "blessings" section of Joel's prophecy. Only if the people truly repented would they avoid a disaster like the one Joel had described. God's blessings are promised to those who sincerely and consistently follow him (2 Chron “IF my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.’)

Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in his commandments! (Psa 112:1)… HSAY

Rom 8:15 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

Let’s be ever mindful of our eternal inheritance and know that fear is a liar!  Not called to be debtors to the flesh (vs 13), but sons of God empowered with authority by the Spirit of God (vs 14). And while the glory and fullness of our inheritance is beyond the grasp of our full understanding, know in every difficulty we face, and every waiting place, we’re given the chance to trust in the things unseen (Heb 11:1) and patiently hold to the promise of His abundant blessings.  

Fear corrodes our confidence in Christ goodness by hiding our inheritance… HSAY

Gen 50:20 “… ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass…”

Sometimes the enemy possesses what we need, and we don’t know we would need it? Consider David and Goliath (1 Sam 17:50 “… but there was no sword in the hand of David.”). The fact is David never would’ve obtained the sword that Goliath possessed if he didn’t engage in the battle. Like Joseph, and his brothers ill will against him, what man was going to use for evil God used it for both Joseph and David’s good. Be faithful in your battles, the grace God has for you may be possessed by your enemy.

The best vision is (50/20), it allows you to see what God sees… HSAY

“HEARKEN TO me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged” Isa 51:1

In Gen 12 God the Father blessed Abraham. Making him a great nation, and his name great because Abraham was willing to hearken to the Lord.

Yet it required Abraham to move in darkness concerning the Lord’s will for him.

But this is the promise of the Lord to protect and deliver me, by way of His goodness. (Jer 29:11), even when I must walk in darkness.

This encouragement requires me to Hearken, Hebrew meaning to hear attentively.

Job’s choice to listen to his friends rather than turning to the Lord only added to his spiritual demise.

Point being: that which I chose to listen to, I’m apt to learn from.

The Lord called only one in Abraham, and yet He made a great spiritual nation that lives and thrives today in His promises.

The blessings that arises out of my life will be determined by who and what I choose to hearken to.

“Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.” Pro 8:32

What has your ear? Encouragement can be in error if we choose to hearken to worldly wisdom!

“And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son …”  2 Kg 4:16

Interesting story shared from Elisha’s ministry. Here’s a “great women” (Pro 31) who used her blessings from God to be servant to God’s work.

She perceived Elisha as a man of God (vs 9) and thus used her gifts to minister to Elisha.

By way of her hospitality to Elisha he offered her a voice before the king and/or the general.

But she was humble and content in her circumstances (vs 13).

But, in her humility, she did tell Elisha she was childless, and her husband was of old age.

Elisha was willing to seek God’s favor to remove that which at present was her only grievance.

Such blessings that are suited to our specific necessities are welcomed with greatest of thanks.

Question: How are you preparing yourself for your blessings?

This woman was still willing to be accountable with the gifts God had blessed her with and serve the work of God while she tarried in her prayers for a son...  (Isa 40:31 “But they that wait (Hebrew word serve) upon the Lord shall renew their strength…”

Point being: don’t miss a blessing from the Lord because you skipped a spiritual work day.

One never knows where God’s next blessing will come from or through.

Be willing to humbly serve God’s work and you’ll find God’s work is likewise serving to you!
