 Acts 4:33 “… great grace was upon them all.”

In this passage unity in great grace was brought forth in the body. Through such grace man can see as never before despite the darkness him. But such grace doesn’t settle upon us by chance, and if we don’t discern certain states of grace, and choose them, and in our thoughts nourish them, they never become fastened in our nature or behavior. Every step taken in grace must be proceeded by first apprehending it, and then prayerful resolve to humble ourselves to it. For grace to abound in our life one must put themselves daily on the altar of sacrifice as did Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane… “not my will, but thine, be done.” (Lk 22:42). As life-giving rain falls from above, so does the power and life-giving grace fall from the Father above… may we shower ourselves in it!

Of all the wonderous works, grace is the greatest of all… HSAY

‘Can two walk together, except they be agreed?’ Amos 3:3

It’s like the slap-stick comedy scenario where two guys are handcuffed together and trying to run in different directions.  Only in this scenario, one it’s not funny, and two there won’t be a struggle on the Father’s part. Meaning He’ll move in His direction with no restriction, its whether we’re going to walk with Him or try to walk our own direction.

Trying to move in a direction against the Father’s will for your life will always be a struggle. Yet, when you get where you’re heading without a struggle, you’re probably going in the Father’s direction. But when you don’t seem to get where you’re heading, it’s probably the Father’s protection.  Powerful things happen when we ask the Father for directions instead of telling the Him where we’d like to go. Know the Father has a plan. Pray for direction to follow it, patience to wait on it, and discernment to see it clearly. 

The Father’s direction won’t be without its own obstacles, but He’ll always provide a bridge over it… HSAY

1 Cor 1:13a “Is Christ divided?”

Paul provides a rhetorical question that’s applicable for us today. Consider that churches are launched almost weekly with a supposed newer or better format for worship, favoritism of preachers, music, style. Such a mindset was indicative of the church in Corinth who was divided in Christ by focusing on preference rather than purpose. (Phl 2:5 “Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus.”)  Don’t fall to the persuasion of preference over purpose (Mt 22:25). We unite in Christ when we fulfill the true purpose of the church: (Jas 1:27 “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”)  A united body/church is not flashy it’s faithful in its servitude to the Lord’s purpose, not their preference.

When we let preference weigh in our purpose, we confuse the sacred with the secular… HSAY

1Cor 1:10a; 13a “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; 13 Is Christ divided?

The most destructive force in any body of work is disunity. And there was no body more fractured and separated than the Triune Godhead when Christ stepped out of eternity into the time. Separating Himself from the Father and Holy Spirit for the first time in all of eternity. But this worked beautifully because they were in unity in their purpose. The Triune Godhead sacrificed what had been eternally bonded for the good of man coming to know their need of the Saviour, and though while separated they were never dis-unified in the greater good for man and Heaven. When man becomes possessive of the work of God, the work will become personal and not purposeful (Acts 26:26) and divided in Christ’s sacrifice for it.  

God never called man to make churches, He called them to make disciples (Mt 28:19) … HSAY
