 Eph 5:20  "Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Negativity is a social cancer: it's difficult to contain and it rots the spirit of man. However, the real danger is that the flesh is so easily influenced by it. That part causes the contagious infection. It's passed on and on until some brave soul enlightens an infected spirit with the hope and promise in Jesus; that brave soul refuses to bite the apple and let the apple eat him. That spirit who refuses to accept doubt and fear is able to amputate it in another through the strength of God's love.  In other words, their hope in Jesus becomes more valued than the lie of negativity is believed to be true.

There's nothing more contagious than the laughter of a spirit that has hope... HSAY

Daily Wisdom

 Act 12:11 “When Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod….”

Often our greatest obstacle is overcoming self and humbly turning to God. Just like the prodigal son in (Lk 15) as compared to Peter here in Acts, when we humbly “come to ourselves” great peace and provision comes with it; the old saying know who butters your bread. Humility drives the soul to thanksgiving and provides patience in the Lord’s provisions. Thanksgiving can’t be an annually scheduled dinner to practice humility, but rather practiced daily by “coming to ourselves” and knowing our provisions are promised only in Him who provides them. 

Humility doesn’t promise a place of perfection, but a place of perseverance in His promised hope… HSAY

Lk 1:45 “… for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord."

Mary only had a prophetic promise from the angel, and now Elizabeth, concerning her caring the Messiah in her womb. What hope, strength, and faith we can all have knowing we can depend on the performance of the promise and not requiring our own; confidently knowing, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” (2 Cor 2:20) A promise is only as good as the one who made it, including our own.  Thank you, Lord we don’t have to depend on any of them spiritually speaking, we can trust in Your performance!

Find hope and strength in that the power of God’s love for you will never be based on your performance for him, but rather His towards you… HSAY

 Psa 68:28  “The Lord hath sent strength for thee… “

The Father has manifested and imparted His strength to appear within us, our inner man. He strengthens us “to go” and traverse the Hill of Difficulty or descend the Valley of Sorrow; but don’t grow weary, fearful, or doubtful but with perseverance in His promise and power to provide, hold to your strength. As well the Lord is our strength to sit still in a season as difficult as that is to attain, “if only I could do something.”  When the child is ill, and the mother stands in impotence, how severe is the test! But our strength and sufficiency is of God; if we must climb, descend or be still, His strength is imparted to us to do so!

Don’t let yesterday steal or tomorrow borrow of the strength the Lord’s given you for today… HSAY

 Psa 62:5 “My soul, wait thou only upon God;  for my expectation is from him.”

This passage brings great peace. Man spends excessive time worrying about the outcome of a thing rather than relying on the One who provides for it. We never find Jesus rejecting a single supplicant who came to Him for mercy, so we too should find contentment in that the Father hears our supplication and will work everything to His glory and our spiritual welfare. The seed of prayer that lies under the ground is taking root preparing to bloom though unseen and appearing dead. Wait on the Lord and place your expectations in Him, knowing the Father is never delayed, but diligent and perfectly timed in your need.

Faith can expect from God what is beyond expectation… HSAY

 Rom 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

How wide is the assertion of Paul! He doesn’t say “We know that some things, or most things or only joyous things… but rather “ALL” things. And all things “work” – they are working in your life; not have worked, could or might. Psa 145:17 “The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.” What a beautiful promise, that the LORD in His righteousness insures “all things work together.” Dwell in the LORD’s love, hold to your salvation and the Lord will do His work in your life for His glory and your good.

What may appear to be falling apart, may actually be falling into place by God’s work… HSAY

 1Jn 5:4  “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”

It can feel at times that every corner we turn in life there’s an enemy or foe waiting to rob you of your hope, joy, peace, or substance. Satan never retires from his efforts of deluding or ruining God’s children. But your faith is the game changer in any situation, it can snatch victory from the jaws of death. No matter the darkness of a situation, or trouble faced, the lifting of your heart to God in a moment of real actual faith, alters life’s situations in a moment. As a child of God your victory is promised and possessed by your faith and is activated as a spiritual 911 when applied.   

Faith never fails it only falters when man’s fear flourishes instead… HSAY

 1Ti 4:10-11 “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. 11 These things command and teach.”

The labor and reproach are experienced in the stewardship of carrying forth the gospel to a lost world. Our trust and strength amongst the reproach is in the promise of our living Saviour, whose desire is that all men would be saved (1 Tim 2:4). But such promise is only appointed to those who’ve acted in faith/obedience by accepting the “gift of God” (Rom 6:23). Understand, the only profitable exercise is in godliness (vs 8), when we labor and suffer to teach others such a truth of salvation.

Salvation isn’t about you, it’s for you; it doesn’t depend on you, it saves you… HSAY

 Est 1:12 “But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment…”

We’ve all heard the term, the devils in the details, cautioning us about hidden/unrevealed circumstances in a situation. What is both truer and assuring for the believer is the providence of the Lord’s promises and provision for our wellbeing in every circumstance in our life. Queen Vashti refusal to respond brought about her removal and ushered in Esther as queen of Persia. This single act by Vashti began the events of the Lord delivering His children from slaughter at the king’s hand. There are always details in life occurrences, but for the believer, his is orchestrated by the providence of the Lord. Romans 8:28 “We know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Faith in the providence of God is the solution of earthly problems.

The providence of God is like Hebrew words – it can only be read backwards, but trusted in going forward… HSAY

 Pro 13:12  ‘Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.’

Nothing is more grievous than the disappointment of a raised expectation that proves false. Hope that is deferred makes the heart sick, fretful and peevish, and higher the expectation is raised greater the heart sinks. Therefore, it’s wisdom not to promise ourselves any great matters from man or this temporal world, doing so is your own vexation. The hearts only hope can only be in the One who can and does keep His promises, knowing there’s no real hope without a real promise. 

Hope hinges on the One who made the promise; know your source, know your hope… HSAY

 Jdg 11:30 ‘And Jephthah made a vow unto the LORD, and said, If you will give the Ammonites into my hand.

Jephthah’s vow was foolish. There are two schools of thought when it comes to this passage. One believes that the daughter of Jephthah was pledged to perpetual virginity (vs 37-39), leaving no heir to his throne. The other school of thought believes that Jephthah sacrificed his daughter to keep his vow. Regardless, Jephthah’s sin was trying to make a deal with the Lord! (Mt 5:37 ‘But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.’)

This vow was in part due to the weakness of his faith. Assuming the Father needs some returned sacrificial gift of appreciation from us. The Lord only desires our obedient heart, not our gifts (Isa 1:13-23). Let your yea be yea, and hold to the Father’s promises, don’t try to negotiate or barter for them!

The soul of the diligent, not master negotiator shall be made rich in the Lord… HSAY

‘Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.’ Joel 3:28

The Day of the Lord is speaking to the second coming of Christ (Rev 19:11-21). There are 283 verses (155 O.T. / 128 N.T.) that prophesy about the second coming of Christ. The RAPTURE of the Church (to meet the LORD in the air) and the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST are two separate events that are separated by a seven-year period.  Whereas the Rapture of the Church is seen as a time of joy (I Thess 2:19, II Cor 1:14 and Jn 14:1-3), the Second Coming is seen as a time of judgment (Mt 25:31-46, I Thess 5:1-3, II Thess 1:7-10 and Rev 19:11-16) and decision.

They simplest way to state the importance with this context of scripture is by saying, "decide today or the decision will be made for you!" (Isa 13).  Look around you. See your family and friends, have they received God's forgiveness and Christ promise? Have they been warned about sin's consequences? If we understand the severity of God's final judgment, we will want to take God's offer of hope to those we know. Joshua stated the importance over 4,600 years ago, ‘Choose you this day whom you will serve’ (Jos 24:15). We may have chosen to accept the promise of Christ, but are we choosing daily to follow Christ? 

Cautious in waiting till tomorrow to choose, the choice may not be waiting for you… HSAY

 "And thou said, I will surely do thee good." Gen 32:12

When Jacob was on the other side of the brook Jabbok, and Esau was coming with armed men, he earnestly sought God's protection, pleading, ‘You said, I will surely do you good!” Jacob was holding the Father to His Word, ‘You said.’  The attribute of God's faithfulness is a splendid promise in which we can hold to, shall not every word He spoke be measured as truth.

When a man gives a promissory note, his oath is engaged; he signs his hand, and he must discharge it when the due time comes, or else he loses credit. It shall never be said that the Father dishonors His credit and oaths. The credit of the Most High never was impeached, and never shall be. He is punctual to the promise and the moment: He never is before his time, but He never is behind it, (Jos 21:45) ‘Not a word failed from any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.’  Paul as well spoke to the Lord’s righteousness, (Rom 3:4) ‘Let it not be! But let God be true, and every man a liar; as it is written.’

Think not that God loves us because we are good; He will make us good because He loves us…HSAY

Daily Wisdom

 "I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction." Isa 48:10

These words offer us comfort and hope in the faithfulness of our Lord. Like a soft shower diminishing the fury of the flame, let affliction come - God has chosen me. Poverty may stride at my door, but God is in the house already, and He has chosen me. Sickness may intrude, but I have a great Healer ready - God has chosen me. Whatever befalls me, I know that He has "chosen" me.

As the three Hebrew children stood in the fiery furnace (Dan 3), the Lord stood amongst them as a cloak shielding them from the flames. We too must draw from the same hope and promise that we are His chosen/adopted children as well. Our Lord dwelt in the lives and dwellings of the impoverished both physically and spiritually. Be cautious in desiring to improve your conditions out of a desire for comfort, you may end up thinking you don’t have a need for the True and only Comforter (Lam 1:16).

Through flood and flames, where Jesus’ lead, I will follow… HSAY

1Ki 19:9 “There he came to a cave and lodged in it. And behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 

What’s keeping you awake at night? The worries that keep us awake at night can point to the core of who we are. In (1 Kg) Elijah had found himself awake in a cave with his worries. Such moments can create great isolation, loneliness as if you’re all by yourself, and Elijah felt just that (vs 22).  There are times in life were the only thing on your side is truth (God’s Word), and that’s all it takes. Oneness is powerful if the one you have is God. This is of the greatest importance, not just declaring the words but believing in the assurance that God is all you need. Elijah was blessed because he came to the realization and acceptance that God would deliver him and that he was never alone. When he was physically alone, with God, Elijah was blessed the most (1 Kg 19:5; 12-13).  But by that same token the Lord is telling us today that we are not alone. We don’t need His presence, that’s what Elijah fell victim to, when we have His promise. The assurance of God’s presence is in the power of His promise that He will never leave us not forsake us (1 Kg 8:57). Back to the verse: Are you where God wants you to be or are you hiding in your cave?

Loneliness is not a lack of company, it’s the lack of assurance in God’s promises… HSAY
