 Zech 6:9 ‘… Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD.’

The “Branch” is one of the most significant of Messiah’s Names. A branch bears the fruit and reveals the character of the tree. Christ as Jehovah’s Branch, revealed by His words and deeds the true character of His Father. Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches,” (Jn 15:5) the fruit-bearing part of the vine. All the blessings that hang on this Branch for our present and future life are the outcome of the love of the Eternal Father, who produces such blessings through Jesus! Likewise, we too called to be fruit bearers (Jn 15:8).

Apart from the branch the vine is lifeless. A believer can’t nail himself to the branch but must be attached, the only thing nailed was our sins to the cross… HSAY

1Cor 1:9 “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”

The confirmation of our blamelessness (vs 8), is founded upon God’s faithfulness (vs 9).  He who had begun a good work in us, and carried it on thus far, would not leave it unfinished. Not upon the principle of strict justice, but gracious absolution; not in rigorous law, but from rich and free grace. How glorious is our hope in such a privilege, that His power subdues our corruption, and allows us fellowship in Jesus; He who has called us is faithful and will do it (1 Th 5:24). Our ability to grasp the magnitude of our sin, multiplies our ability to grasp the grace and faithfulness of His love through Jesus.

Fellowship with the Father and the Son is most vivid and sweet; and Christian joy is greatest, by way of it, even when the cross is heaviest… HSAY

Luk 15:17 “And when he came to himself … (18) I will arise and go to my father …”

These two excerpts from (Lk 15:17-18) some up the whole matter when it comes to man’s separation from the Father.

I’m not a runner.  I liked cardio training but couldn’t endure just running, I was prone to run too far out, meaning if I ran say 5 miles out I realized I had to run 5 miles to get back. There were times when I felt I was doing well, and I ran too far, and thought I’d never make it back.

Point being: Fortunately, with God you can never run so far that you can’t make it back!

The prodigal son makes this clear. Yet we must notice the son’s first step in returning to the Father. The son didn’t increase his work/s to get in better shape. He simply “came to himself.” The son had become mentally deranged from the Father’s will. The Greek phrase “came to himself” implies a kindred mind-set, unity in thought. We change our thinking to the Father’s.

The beauty is the Father who is always prepared, ran to the son upon seeing his return! There’s a beautiful song titled “When God Ran” by Phillips, Craig & Dean:

He ran to me,

He took me in His arms,

Held my head to His chest,

Said "My son's come home again!"

Lifted my face,

Wiped the tears from my eyes,

With forgiveness in His voice He said

"Son, do you know I still love You?"

Running can be great for us if we’re running in the right direction with the right mind. Maybe your mind-set is deranged from the Father’s, that’s not fatal and is easily fixable. Just “come to yourself” change your thinking and bring into unity, kindred to the Father’s, and He’ll be prepared to run to you and meet you where you are!

Stop believing the lies of the enemy that there’s no way back! The Father’s ears and eyes are on you, just “come to yourself” and He’ll come to you!

It’s not about the distance you’ve run that matters, it’s the direction you’ve running in!

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” 1 Jn 1:5

Darkness in itself does not exist; only by the absence of light do you find darkness.  In a comparative manner doubt is the absence of hope; anger is the absence of joy; jealously is the absence of contentment; selfishness is the absence of love; hate is the absence of peace and fear is the absence of faith. The absence which is missing is fellowship with God (vss 6 & 7). The word fellowship means participation, without such we are left with self reliance when it comes to light, hope, joy, love, peace and faith.  Darkness encroaches when we are left without the light we need to see His righteousness; yet in the darkest moments in life you can still have great vision if you’re participating in it with Christ. Darkness will always try to cast its shadow over you; its ability to hinder your strength will depend on your fellowship/participation with Christ… “I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Jn 8:12 

Darkness has never prevailed over light, only our lack of participation has allowed darkness to prevail over us!
