“… Beware ye of the leaven (reveling) of
the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.” Lk 12:1
Hypocrisy is the self-righteous act of conformity to
religion without an inner spirit of obedience and servitude to others. Example:
one may carefully tithe his income but be rude and obnoxious to coworkers. An act
of holiness with a heart that is hollow is like pouring water into a funnel, it
can appear full for a moment but quickly reveals itself empty. Obedience
without love is brutality, and love without obedience is hypocrisy.
Lord, help us practice what we preach or change our speech…
