“The adversary hath spread out his hand upon
all her pleasant things; for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her
sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy
congregation.” Lam 1:10
Chapter
one of lamentations is one of the most burdensome passages from God’s children
as they mourn, thus lament from their rebellion against God. And verse ten
illustrates the choice of rebellion was not necessarily willful as much as it
was negligence. They allowed within
their realm of influence that which God had warned them about. That, outside of God which looks to enter
offering light will eventually leave you in darkness. Seldom does one intentionally
sin or rebel against God, they are influenced by that which has been allowed to
have access to their thoughts; control your influencers, control your impulse. You’ve
been called to change the world, not chase after it; but you can never change
that which you live like. That which influences you will eventually instruct
you.
“Laughter
of the world is merely loneliness trying to reassure itself.”
