“They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from
the enemy.” Psa 78:42
It should not be a surprise that when one loses their
humility hurt is soon to follow.
By Israel’s lack of humility “their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.”
(vs 33)
While we don’t want to linger in the past and its mistakes,
we do need to keep them close to mind and grow wiser through them.
The Israelite's they failed to learn from their past
wondering from God that lead to their bondage.
And now delivered by God, they lost their humility and forgot again “… that God was their rock; and their
redeemer.” (vs 35)
The past must be used to expound on lessons learned; allowing
us to live wiser and humbler in the present and for tomorrow.
Don’t let our lack of humility in yesterday hinder the
promises God has for us today.
Failing to remember from whence you came is a sure path to
end up back where you started.
